Antisemitism: A Human Behavioral Approach to the Discrimination of Jews
This paper gives an overview of Antisemitism and how certain behaviors can result in an ‘Othering.’ Based on research conducted for a writing sample, this paper aims to increase awareness about the dangers of learning and reinforcing different behaviors. Human behaviors are endlessly complex and built upon a myriad of dependencies. For this research, the two main factors discussed are a person’s interactions with their environment and the concept of “Us versus Them.” Our environment can significantly impact how we act, especially as it pertains to different groups of people. Furthermore, these actions can often lead to indirect forms of hate or explicit violence. The primary concern of this paper is the violence that Jews have experienced and continue to experience daily. Often, Antisemitism is seen as an issue that we solved with the culmination of World War II, but this is far from the case. There is no longer space for people who choose to behave with contempt for a group of people based on what religion they choose to follow.
Decomposition Research
In my Forensic Anthropology course, we were required to conceptualize a research project we could administer. Within this assignment, we needed to include the materials we would require to conduct this experiment, the methods we would follow throughout, and our hypotheses about what would result from this decomposition experiment.
